“connecting our community”
Here are some snaps of the many wonderful dogs that came along to the Dog Show. They are just too cute for words right?
Another busy week. Reminiscing … giving out the rest of the prizes to people who we missed on the weekend. Op shopping, gardening, lunching … recovering!
And now … we’re closed for the school holidays. We’ll be back on Monday 28 April, after the ANZAC Day long weekend, raring to go for Term 2.
There are lots of posts to read this week - thanking our volunteers and sponsors, highlighting new programs and detailing our op shop adventures. Just click on the links below to read them and see all the fabulous photos.
We’ll also put out some more posts over the holidays about all the things coming up next term … so please read them and book in! and hopefully you wont miss us too much.
Have a great Easter etc. See you on the other side.
Cheers
Leanne
The success of our community events is anchored by the wonderful support of the volunteers we count on to give their time and share their friendly smiles with everyone that comes along! This year we would really like to thank Elaine, Marie-Louise, Anne, Corado, Ina, Jane and Peter, Danesh, Lee, Jeff, Steph, Anna, Norma and Cheryl for helping with our Craft Stall, Nature Crowns, the Sausage Sizzle and the Dog Show.
Also the amazing CWA and the judges. The CWA helped organise the Alphington Show, including setting up on Friday and being here to accept entries - thanks Michelle, Anne and Lyn!
All of our judges generously volunteer their time to carefully assess the entries. We would like to thank Nola, Wayne and Bill (from Preston Garden Club) and Kate in particular this year.
And also all of the CWA members that gave their time to run the Devonshire Tea - both making and serving on the day.
The local sponsors for our event this year were Snappy Pet Photography (Jeff - who was one of the judges), E&A Salce (pet supplies in Thornbury - who donated prizes and vouchers to the winners) and Brenta Meats. We would also like to thank Nelson Alexander who provide us with promotional billboards and corflute signs around our local neighbourhood. Thank you to the local schools (Alphington Primary and Fairfield Primary) that give their permission for the boards to be on the school grounds and include our event in their newsletters. And thanks to Darebin Libraries who let us put a display in their windows at Fairfield - we know lots of people came along because of this promotional opportunity.
Thanks once again everyone. We couldn’t do it without you!
