connecting our community
The key …

Last term our community arts project was called ‘The Key …’ and we invited people passing on the street to write their thoughts on a key tag in relation to 3 questions.

As each round finished we put all the keys 🔑 in a jar on our bench … and now we are enjoying having lots of good vibes and thoughtful ideas infiltrating our subconscious as we pass by the jars each day.

Take a look next time you are here. Thanks to everyone who joined in!

Term 3 - we’re back

After a much appreciated mid year break we are back on deck Monday. It looks to be a chilly week ahead - but we hope to see you here despite the forecast.

Our Friday community program will resume this week … and our key short courses etc. will begin in two weeks.

And … yes, we know … we have some things to get organised ASAP!

Highest on our list is Movie Club … our first date is this Tuesday! We’ll add everyone who has expressed interest to the What’s App group first thing Monday and send out the details for the movie etc.

We’ve also got our first Alphington Arts meeting on Thursday night at 7.30pm. And … we need to get this What’s App group going too! This session we’ll be learning the basics of basket making, led by Kayti Murphy. It should be fun!

It’s not too late to join in! Let us know if you haven’t signed up but are keen to join in too! The more the merrier for both the movies and getting arty.

Keep fit!

We’re super excited to be partnering with Jess from Phase1Performance down on Heidelberg Road, to offer some fitness classes this semester.

Family Fitness

Come along from 10-10.45am on Tuesday mornings for 4 week blocks and get fit with your children in tow. This class will be flexible and work around the attendees - open for mums, dads, aunties and uncles, carers, grandparents … anyone who would like to enjoy some exercise whilst on the job with child minding duties.

Book in here.

Active Adults

At 11-11.45am on Tuesdays we will be running a gentle exercise class. Suitable for older people or younger people who are looking to keep fit and healthy.

Leanne
Free concert

Sarah from Yarra City Council sent through this invitation. It looks fun! You should book in.

On Thursday 25th July from 1 – 3pm, Yarra Aged and Disability Services will host a free jazz concert at Collingwood Town Hall as part of the Leaps and Bounds Festival.

With a focus on older people and people with a disability, this is a great opportunity to get out, hear some live music and have fun. Bookings are essential. See the poster for details.
