Playstation

Last year we got a grant from the Community Bank on Queens Parade, and with it we built a playstation - a bit different from the tiny ones on our fence - but just as fun!

This one stands by itself - and it includes doors and peep holes, and features famous art, and little bags of treasures, along with spot the difference games … and more.

We had it out for our end of year market last year, but with our backyard complete it has found a new permanent (or semi-permanent) home under our verandah.

Next time you are here with kids pop and out the back and take a look. It is super creative (thanks Lee)! And provides hours of cute fun.

Crunch … mosaics … and a new playgroup…

This coming week is Neighbourhood House Week!

And in a happy coincidence we are starting up three new programs. Such great timing … we should be claiming that it was all deliberate and such, so … let’s just say the universe operates in fortuitous ways (despite our actual lack of planning and foresight)!?!

If you like, you too can join in on the good luck/happenstance vibe that we’re emanating and come along!

10.30am Monday - Grandparents and Carers Playgroup

$10 weekly for a structured playgroup session, all welcome but ideal for grandparents and carers. Book in online here.

1pm Monday - Mosaics Workshop

$120 for 4 weeks. Learn about tiling and grouting and the same time make some beautiful art. Basic tools and materials provided. I think Lee is starting off with house numbers and/or coasters. Book in online here.

12.30pm Thursday - Crunch (creative lunch)

$15 weekly. Get fed! Get creative! Leanne’s cooking. Lee’s making art. Come along for an hour or so of creative escapism, then get on with rest of your day. Please book in online (so we know who is coming). Just click here.

The garden etc.

Leanne here. Thanks for the plant donations family and friends! My mum and dad dropped off a tub of dietes. Annie dropped off some pelargoniums and hardy pollinator plants she had nurtured from cuttings.

This week I pulled out my paint brush and some fence paint I had hanging around from my renovation at home - and gave the back fence a lick of paint. It was blue. Now it is grey to match the new pod and pergola.

And on Friday we ordered some soil and our gardeners led by Clare and Corrado started filling up the new garden beds around the pod and out the front.

And we planted.

The rush was on with birthday party bookings now coming in to make our space civilised!

So, nearly there outside. We’re also going to add in some small trees and some ground covers in the next week or so.

And … in related news Kalimna and I cleaned the office (for the second and what we hope is the final time in this renovation journey) - so we can sit at our desks … and actually find things. Hooray! 🎉

See you soon at our nearly organised neighbourhood house!

Crunch (creative lunch)

At ACC we love food and art. So we’re starting up a new lunch experience we’re calling crunch - short for ‘creative lunch’.

Come along Thursdays from 12.30pm starting on 16 May. $15 a week.

We’ll feed you hearty soups etc. for these autumnal days and nourish your creative soul with a different art experience each week.

Take a break from the humdrum of everyday and immerse yourself in an hour of drawing, painting and creating … before getting back to your afternoon of work or organising or school pickups …

Crunch is yum, creative and fun and suitable for anyone with an artistic bent. Kids welcome.

Book in here.
