3078 History: Station Street, Fairfield

There has been a proliferation of sharing of local history online, particularly on the Fairfield 3078 Facebook page. Vanessa from our History Group kicked things off, but others have got on board.

If you’re not part of the group, here are some pictures of Station Street from 1966 that you might enjoy seeing. Some of the buildings are still there, some of them have gone. The cars are pretty groovy!

And then there’s this article about the Fairfield Theatre. Wouldn’t it be ace to still have a local theatre … imagine. The building is still there - split between Brentas and the newsagents.
